Sleep Apnea: Education, Awareness, and Screening
Getting restful sleep is one of the most important requirements for a healthy and happy life. For the one in twenty of us who have health conditions that affect our ability to sleep, life is not so healthy or happy. Simple tasks such as reading a newspaper or a book can be a challenge. Doing your best at work can sometimes be almost impossible. Most wonder if they will ever feel normal again.
Many people who have problems sleeping may have a condition called sleep apnea. The vast majority of people with sleep apnea are unaware of their problem, they just know that they are tired all the time. The last thing they would associate as a cause is the quality of their sleep. This course is designed to improve your knowledge about sleep and it essential role in our health. Another goal is to create awareness about sleep apnea, provide an opportunity to assess your individual risk and give those at high risk a path back to a normal life.
Consider taking the class with your wife, husband or significant other, your health is important to them too. Remember, the effects of daytime fatigue and sleep apnea go well beyond you!
